We’re supporting the Home Office’s ‘Fire Kills’ campaign

Earlier this year the Home Office launched a new campaign called ‘Fire Kills’. Its aim is simple: keep people safe in their homes.

You might’ve already heard it on the radio, seen it advertised on the television or shared posts about #FireKills on social media.

We’re supporting the campaign as part of our commitment to fire safety. It’s one of our top priorities and we’re keen to do all we can to help highlight what you can do to reduce the chances of fire and damage in your home.

Last year, 248 people lost their lives due to a fire at home, many of which could’ve been prevented. Those statistics are from the Home Office’s campaign, which highlights lots of common causes of fire including candles, cooking left unattended, covered electrical heaters, overloaded plugs, and cigarettes. Watch the video below to find out more.

They suggest installing smoke alarms on every level of your home and making sure you can hear them throughout your home.
