Your gardening services change slightly as we move into spring and summer. Here’s what we focus on during the warmer months, though all of our gardening services depend on the weather. Things like heavy rain will affect what we’re able to do and when we’re able to do it.

Here’s what to expect:

Grass cutting

We work to maintain the grassed areas near you to make sure it's cut regularly and well maintained.

  • We'll cut the grass in communal areas between March to the end of October
  • We can't guarantee or let you know the timings of when grass will be cut
  • During dry weather the grass grows slower, so we'll cut it less often
  • We don't cut grass in wet weather or if the ground is too soft
  • We don't collect grass cuttings. They'll be left on the grass but will be cleared from paths and walkways
  • We'll clear litter from grassed areas and in nearby hedges and trees before cutting the grass
  • We'll regularly check grassed areas to make sure the grass isn't too long
  • Banks and rough grass will be left to grow for longer. We aim to cut them in May, July and September

We use large mowing machinery to cut your grass. The machines can’t always get into smaller spaces, like corners or barriered areas.

Our teams will usually cut larger areas of grass first. So you may notice that some of the smaller areas of grass are left uncut, but don’t worry we’ll be back to cut it and it won’t be left uncut for longer than five days (subject to weather conditions).

Hedges and shrubs

Most hedges are cut twice a year; once in the early to mid-summer after the birds have finished nesting; and again, in the autumn.

Weed control and hard standing areas

We'll clear access through alleyways and hard standing areas by applying weed killer up to three times between November and the end of February. This includes places like communal patios and alleyways. The chemical we use is non-toxic and doesn't harm pets or wildlife.

Leaves

We clear leaves once a year, between November and the end of February.

Trees

We inspect our trees every year. If there’s a risk of injury or damage to a property, then we'll prune or remove them. This could happen at any point during the year.

Litter picking

We only remove litter when we clear shrub borders and before we cut your grass, so that we don’t shred it in our mowing machines. Concerns about litter on grass areas should be raised with our Customer Team.
