Join our Big Sleep Out for Porchlight
Today is World Homeless Day and we’re challenging you to give up your bed for a sleeping bag, for just one night, to raise funds for people sleeping rough in Kent.
On Friday 26 January we’ll be sleeping out in our car park to raise money for local homelessness charity Porchlight. By joining us and braving the cold, you can help give homeless people a brighter future.
A sleep out isn’t meant to imitate the experience of people who are living on the streets. But by spending the night outside, you’ll get an insight into the daily struggles faced by those who have no choice but to sleep rough every night.
A team building experience
A sleep out is a great team building experience and it’s fun too. Bring together your dream team of colleagues, friends or family and join in some friendly competition for the best shelter prize.
Representatives from Porchlight will be there on the night, sharing experiences of life on the streets and talking about why fundraising is so vital to their work.
This is how our sleep out could help change lives
£250 could provide 10 basic welcome packs of food, toiletries and cleaning products for people moving into Porchlight’s hostels
£500 could cover a rent deposit for someone moving on from Porchlight accommodation into their own flat
£1000 could prevent five people from becoming homeless by supporting them in their own home for a month, helping them to sustain their tenancy
