Meet our Charity of the Year for 2024
Swale Community Care Project, a Kent-based charity that supports people living in poverty, by providing food, clothing and signposting to additional community services, has been announced as our Charity of the Year for 2024.
Charity champions, Amanda Marsh and Megan Adams, will lead mhs homes’ fundraising efforts.
There are already a number of fundraising activities and events in the pipeline for the year ahead, including a charity golf day, dragon boat race, tuck shop and Christmas party, among others.

Ashley Hook, chief executive of mhs homes, said: “Swale Community Care Project is a fantastic charity that provides much needed support for the most vulnerable and isolated in the community. We are delighted to announce that they will be our Charity of the Year for 2024, and we hope to raise as much money as possible for this worthy cause.”
The Swale Community Care Project team work closely with the local authority and local organisations to help support those who are in poverty or are suffering financial hardship. The charity organises home-delivery food parcels and are currently planning to set up a community café.

Daniel Marsh, a trustee of Swale Community Care Project, commented: “For a new, local charity to be chosen by mhs homes staff as Charity of the Year was a massive surprise and joy for all involved with the Swale Community Care Project.
“mhs homes has a track record of making big differences to their chosen charities. Being selected provides a level of security for our current and future projects. In particular, it will allow us to continue the home delivery of food parcels for those with access challenges and extend our community support in the form of our community café project.
“We are incredibly grateful to the mhs homes team for this game-changing opportunity and look forward to working with them over the next year.”
The Charity of the Year 2024 winner was revealed at mhs homes’ annual Christmas Buffet.
Last year, mhs homes raised more than £15,000 for local baby bereavement charity, Making Miracles.
