mhs homes partners with Kent Police and Medway Council on new ‘Crimestoppers Zone’

mhs homes have been working in partnership with Kent Police and Medway Council to help tackle anti-social behaviour, with the launch of a new ‘Crimestoppers Zone’.

The Crimestoppers Zone is there to remind residents of alternative ways in which they can report criminal behaviour.

Crimestoppers is an independent charity that allows people to provide information without speaking to the police or providing their details.

Residents living in the Bryant Street, Whittaker Street and Church Street areas of Chatham have been receiving fliers to raise awareness of the service, with new signs also being installed in several key locations.

Sergeant Sasha Blomfield of the Medway Community Safety Unit said: “We are working with our partners including Medway Council and mhs homes to tackle the causes of crime and anti-social behaviour in this part of Chatham, for the benefit of all who live there.

“We understand that not everybody feels comfortable reporting their concerns directly to the police, which is why Crimestoppers provides such an invaluable service. We hope this new Crimestoppers Zone will help build confidence among local people about reporting incidents and deterring criminals from committing offences.”

Ashley Hook, chief executive of mhs homes, added: “Anti-social behaviour has a serious impact on people’s lives and tackling it is a key priority for us. We know how important it is for people to feel safe and secure in their homes and their local area. We will continue to work together with our partners to ensure that our communities are thriving and safe places where people are proud to live.”
