mhs homes visit The Octopus Foundation
After announcing The Octopus Foundation as our chosen winners at the Pride in Medway awards, we were keen to see their work in action. The Rochester-based charity provides shed projects for people to come together, learn new skills and build confidence.
mhs homes representatives including chief executive Ashley Hook, company secretary Louise Humphrey and Jon Gower, assistant delivery manager and one of our mental health champions, met some of the participants of the older men’s project. “Everyone we spoke to told us how this small charity is making a big difference to their lives,” said Louise.“
“Connections with the community and social support are so critical in helping people to live well and manage their mental health and emotional wellbeing. The Octopus Foundation is an example of place-based community support at its best.”
