Meet our Charity of the Year for 2025

We’re proud to announce our partnership with domestic abuse charity, Child’s Vision

Child’s Vision is a local Kent-based charity, set up to help and support children that have witnessed or been affected by domestic abuse.

They’re a small charity, making a big impact. They work with local agencies to support families through the trauma of domestic abuse.

Our Charity Champion, Steve Weston said: “Over the past few years, I’ve been shocked by how many people are, affected by domestic abuse. It can be hard for victims to leave an abusive situation, which means kids often have no choice but to stay. As a small charity helping  children who have experienced the trauma of domestic abuse, Child’s Vision need all the support they can get to be able to carry on.”

Child’s Vision are an award-winning charity, providing 1-2-1 support and running Freedom Programmes aimed at helping children make sense of and understand what’s happened to them. Their services work to break the abuse cycle and improve children's lives.

Rachael Hudson, CEO & Founder of Child’s Vision, added: “As a charity, we feel so privileged and excited to be chosen as Charity of the Year for mhs homes. This will help us support the children that are currently on our waiting list and those that are still being referred. Thank you so much for choosing to partner with us.”

Tackling domestic abuse is an important part of our work. As a housing provider, we’re in a unique position to spot the signs of domestic abuse early and by taking the right actions, we can support  more survivors to safety. That’s why we're working on gaining Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) accreditation to help us improve our response to domestic abuse.

Susie Bloxham, our DAHA Project Lead commented: “I’m really pleased we’re supporting Child’s Vision this year. We know children affected by domestic violence can develop post-traumatic stress disorder, have nightmares, flashbacks and physical pains.

“This important partnership will secure essential services for the vulnerable children in our communities, for years to come. This small charity's work is absolutely life changing.”
