Golf day raises record £22,000 for local children’s charity

We are thrilled to announce that our annual charity golf day raised a record £22,000 for Child’s Vision – a Kent-based charity supporting children who have witnessed or been affected by domestic abuse.

More than 130 golfers across 34 teams battled it out on the fairways of Sittingbourne & Milton Regis Golf Club. A huge congratulations to Highview Group, who were the overall winners on the day. Other competitions and prizes included a long drive contest, closest to the pin, beat the pro and even a chance to win £10,000 by hitting a hole-in-one.

The money raised will make a huge difference to our charity of the year, Child’s Vision. Sadly, there are not enough services around to help children affected by domestic abuse and those that do exist are struggling to meet demand. With these extra funds, the charity can pay for two new support workers and help many more children who are currently on their waiting lists.

Marie-Claire Delbrouque, mhs homes chief executive, said: “Thank you to everyone who took part and to those who generously sponsored the event in aid of such an important cause. Every child deserves to live free from fear and abuse and we’re proud to be partnering with a charity that’s making a real difference locally. Our original fundraising target for the year was £20,000 so to hit this already is just incredible. We’ll continue our fundraising efforts to help Child’s Vision provide essential support services in our communities.”

Rachael Hudson, CEO of Child’s Vision, commented: “We’re overwhelmed with the generosity and support from everyone who took part on the day!

“The amount raised was over and above anything we could have imagined and will help us to halve the waiting list for our school support programme and secure our services for the next year. Thank you so much from everyone at Child’s Vision.”

We would also like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors for the event:
