What to do if you're vulnerable
We can provide advice to residents with mobility difficulties about action in case of a fire in their flats – e.g. by going to a safe area on the same floor.
We keep up to date lists of residents that need assistance in the event of a fire.
Have a Safe and Well visit
If you’re vulnerable or worried about someone else, Kent Fire and Rescue Service can carry out a Safe and Well visit.
If you know someone who's vulnerable you can refer them too.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service will visit your home to help you reduce risk of fire in your home and help you stay safe.
There's no cost. It's free, takes about 45 minutes and includes the fitting of free smoke alarms where necessary.
They'll do this for anyone who:
- Is aged 70 and over
- Is living with dementia
- Has a long term health condition
- Has young children, or is pregnant
- Smokes
