You may need to end a tenancy on behalf of someone else when:
- the tenant has died
- the tenant isn't capable of ending the tenancy themselves
Once you have the documents you need you can complete our end a tenancy on behalf of someone else form.
When the tenant has died
To end the tenancy you must provide a copy of the death certificate and be one of the below:
- Registered as next of kin
- The person registering the death
- An executor of the will

When the tenant isn't capable of ending the tenancy themselves
This is usually when the tenant moves into a care home or hospital.
To end the tenancy you must provide proof you have power of attorney.
