Pre-inspections and the repairs process
When you report a repair to us, we will either:
- allocate the work to the mhs repair team who will carry out the repair
- send one of our existing contractors to carry out the repair
- arrange for our pre-inspection team to visit your home to assess what needs to be done
If during a pre-inspection it’s decided a specialist contractor is needed, one of our colleagues will let you know.

Before the repair |
The person who carries out the inspection will select the most suitable contractor for your repair and share your contact details with them. They will also tell you if you need to do anything to prepare for the contractors visit, such as clearing space for them to work. The contractor will then get in touch to make an introduction, confirm the work to be carried out, and arrange an appointment at a time that works best for you. |

After the repair |
We hope you are happy with the repair. If you are not, please tell us within 4 weeks of the repair taking place. We will arrange a callback with the contractor to attend within 5 working days. Call: 01634 565333 Email: [email protected] We may ask you to take photos and send them to us, if you can. |
Safety first - Checking Contractor ID
You’ll have already heard from the contractor, so should know which company to expect before your appointment.
They will always carry identification and should offer to show it to you before coming into your home. If you’re still unsure, they'll be happy to wait outside while you check with us.
Remember – mhs would never expect you to pay cash to a contractor we have sent.
